NEW ORLEANS ? The 2nd annualNOLA DOWNTOWN Music & Arts Festival, September 28 & 29, 2012 in Lafayette Square celebrating the comeback of New Orleans Downtown is seeking qualified Arts & Craft vendors in the following categories; photography, painting, ceramics, sculpture, glass, metal, wood, leather, mixed media, jewelry, soap and beauty products, fashion (purses, handmade clothing, hats, etc) and candles and other related medium.
Arts & Craft Vendors Opportunity
- Friday, September 28th from 3:00 pm ? 8:00 pm
- Saturday, September 29th from 10:00 am ? 8:00 pm
Deadline: Monday, September 17, 2012
10?x10? booths space will be rented to individual artists at a rate of $35 for Friday/$75 for Saturday?s event. The Festival does not provide tents, tables, utility or set-up assistance.
- Artists/Vendor can register and pay for their spot online at (http://www.noladowntown.com)
- Artists/Vendor are responsible for their own sales
- Set-up time; Friday, September 28 from 12:00 noon ? 3:00 pm
- Set-up time; Saturday, September 29 from 9:00 am ? 10:30 am
- Artists/Vendor must bring own tent/tables/chairs/signage.
- Artists/Vendor will be assigned to a section of Lafayette Square by Festival staff
- Artist/Vendor must have a permit to sell artwork in New Orleans
- MBI reserves the right to cancel the arts market due to extreme weather conditions?and/or other emergencies.
- MBI reserves the right to turn away artists based on space availability (first come, first serve)
- Application and fee must be paid by cob Monday, September 17, 2012
Rates and set-up for information booths by clubs, organizations and non-profits are the same as above.
This is the second year of the Festival which this year will include a new feature; theCruisin? New Orleans Specialty Car Show; a celebration of antique, classic and hot rod vehicles showcased in the heart of New Orleans? Downtown Development District combined for a weekend of fun, music, food, and hot cars.?? Activities will include:

- Cutting Edge Film Rodeo featuring new music performed to Tarzan of the Apes
- Entertainment Industry Business Opportunity Expo

The?NOLA DOWNTOWN Music & Arts Festival?and the Cutting Edge: CE are projects of the Music Business Institute (MBI), a New Orleans based nonprofit organization dedicated to entertainment education, business and career development. The festival is a part of the Cutting Edge music showcases and offers all ages the opportunity to hear the great musical talent offered by the Cutting Edge. The festival and all Cutting Edge showcase performances are FREE to the public.Cutting Edge CE brings together music industry personnel from across the country; including representatives from?ASCAP, BMI,?ReverbNation, Music Connection,?eOne Music,and many others.
Music Industry Tent: Book Signing & CD Sales
In keeping with MBI?s mission to provide opportunities for people in the entertainment business, MBI will provide a Music Industry Tent for musicians to sell their books and CDs at no charge to the artist. In exchange for this opportunity, MBI is simply requiring that the artist commit at least one hour to personally sign and market their products in the Music Industry Tent.
