Mexico tycoons widen U.S. sports reach with Padres, Chivas USA deals

Chivas usa fans gary friedman

MEXICO CITY --?A cousin of the world's richest man, Carlos Slim, has become a part owner of the San Diego Padres, and a married couple who are Mexican millionaires have taken control of Chivas USA, a Major League Soccer team.

The deals, announced in separate reports Wednesday, widen the reach of Mexico's hyper-wealthy in the high-stakes world of professional sports in Southern California.

Alfredo Harp Helu, a?billionaire banker and Slim's cousin, appeared Wednesday on a list of eight new part-owners of slightly less than half of San Diego's Major League Baseball team.

The sale was?reported to be worth $800 million during negotiations, but details on the final purchase price paid by members of the team's new minority group of owners were not revealed. Harp's wealth is estimated at $1 billion.

From its Carson-based clubhouse, meanwhile, Chivas USA announced that Jorge Vergara and Angelica Fuentes, the founder and chief executive, respectively, of the Omnilife nutritional supplements company have acquired the second half of the squad's ownership from partners, becoming full owners.

Vergara and Fuentes are already owners of the original Chivas in Guadalajara, the popular First Division team in Mexico's second largest city. The details of the Chivas USA deal were not released.

It's been a good week for Fuentes, one of Mexico's wealthiest women. On Tuesday she was named a chief patron of the newly renovated Rufino Tamayo Museum, which accompanied a minor controversy in Mexico's art world.

Fuentes' name appears prominently in a renovated gallery inside the museum, along with a gallery named in honor of billionaire Carlos Hank Rhon, brother of the scandal-ridden former mayor of Tijuana, Jorge Hank Rhon.?Critics bemoaned the presence of the Hank Rhon name inside the museum as a symbol of the increasing privatization of public art institutions in Mexico.

Flags leave Banning football coach McTyer upset

Coach says officials were inconsistent in Pilots' 61-12 loss to Cathedral.

After suffering through a 61-12 drubbing at home Thursday night by Cathedral, Banning coach Tim McTyer saved his harshest criticism for the officials.

"It seems like no matter what we do, whether we're hitting too hard or not hitting properly, they're calling something phantom," McTyer said. "But it's not (called) both ways. And it's hard because every week you're going to get a different set of refs who have a different emphasis on each thing. Each week, you prepare for something and fix something ... their emphasis is on something else."

McTyer, who said the Pilots were victims of several such hits, was upset about a personal foul penalty called on one of his defensive players in the first half that helped lead to a Cathedral touchdown. In the fourth quarter, McTyer ran to the middle of the field to protest and scream at two officials after a Cathedral defender made what he believed to be a similar hit on one of his players. No penalty was called.

His heated exchanges with the game's officials led to a verbal confrontation between the coach and the umpire after the game.

"Great job today," McTyer said, tongue-in-cheek.

Still, the officials couldn't have prevented Cathedral from hammering the Pilots (0-2). The Phantoms (2-0) pounded them in the second quarter and rolled the rest of the way. After playing Cathedral even and finishing with a 6-6 tie after one quarter, the Phantoms, one of many programs to benefit from St. Bernard's

decision to skip varsity football this season, blew the contest open with a 30-point blitz in the second.

Miscues and an injury to wide receiver Iakopo Moaaliitele contributed to the Pilots' demise. Their inability to stop the Phantoms' offense, particularly the Pilots' poor pass defense, which resulted in Cathedral receivers frequently getting open in the secondary.

Banning's first mistake occurred when it lined up for a punt near midfield early in the second quarter. But the snap from center sailed over the head of punter Jessie Montes de Oca with just 24 seconds gone in the second quarter, as Cathedral recovered on the Banning 14.

Quarterback Hayden Rettig, who threw seven touchdowns, five of them in the first half, hit wide receiver Cameron Akins about a minute later for a 14-6 Cathedral lead and the rout was on.

Banning quarterback Sergio Ramirez was his team's leading rusher with 70 yards on 16 carries. He completed 14 of 29 passes for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Sophie Madeleine, 'Oil & Gold' -- Video of the Day

Artist: Sophie Madeleine
Video: "Oil & Gold"
Highlight: "'Oil & Gold' is a song about going through a bad time in order to find something special," Sophie Madeleine tells Spinner. "The video was made by the brilliant Rafa Pavon of Watergun.tv. We shot it by the Thames on a very warm day, and had several problems to deal with before we even began shooting. Then we spent an exhausting and very sweaty afternoon with me repeatedly playing along to the song on an iPod that was stuffed down the back of my knickers because it was the only place I could conceal it. Lots of people stared at us. Somebody threw twenty pence at me. Another interrupted us mid-take to ask where I bought my ukulele. By the end of it we were completely worn out, but we had a great music video."

Facebook Camera for iPhone adds notifications and other improvements

Following the Facebook app's recent update to 5.0 with major speed improvements, the Facebook Camera for iPhone app has also received a significant amount of features to it's recent update. These features include notifications, better photo management, likes, and comments, and other UI improvements.

The types of notifications supported by Facebook Camera or those for tags, likes, and comments on photos. To view the notifications, simply tap on the News tab to see a list.

In addition to notifications, Facebook Camera now lets you create new albums or add photos to any pre-existing album. You can also add likes and comments on posts that feature more than one photo and "like" individual comments. If a photo features a long caption, you can now scroll through it when viewing the photo in fullscreen. Lastly, names and profile pictures for everyone who liked a photo can be viewed.

None of these new features are groundbreaking, but they certainly address many of the complaints users had about the Facebook Camera app. It's great to see Facebook investing resources in improving the user experience of their iPhone and iPad apps.

What do you think of the update? Now that you can view notifications, add photos to specific albums, and like comments, do you think you'll use Facebook Camera more often?

As if mortgages weren?t already dificult enough to get, now comes a new wrinkle for home buyers: trouble with unpermitted sunrooms, room additions and pools.

I?ve had several transactions this year that have threatened to terminate because of unpermitted work. It seems that appraisers are now required to note whether or not improvements have permits on file or not in their appraisal reports. The problem is, the city did not start keeping good records until 1978, so finding a permit for any work performed before then is virtually impossible.

I feel bad for appraisers, who, thanks to federal regulations, already work for less money than they used to. Putting the additional burden of searching for permits doesn?t seem fair.handyman dog with a hammer

Here?s where the wrinkle comes in. You find a house to buy and make an offer, the appraisal comes in after about two weeks, but then the mortgage company, instead of having the underwriter review the file, lets it sit until the entire file is complete. Sometimes it?s not looked at until a day or two before closing. Then the underwriter finds the problem in their final review and then major headaches begin.

The first time I encountered this issue was back in March. I had a listing with an inground pool and sunroom addition on a house. The appraiser looked for permits but couldn?t find any, I?m guessing because the work was done in the early 1970?s. Apparently the underwriter ?didn?t look at the appraisal until the day before the scheduled closing and the lender would not lend on the house. After several days spent in limbo, with a moving truck on the way, the mortgage company had to pull the loan from one lender and send it to another lender. This caused a delay of about two weeks and the necessity of scrambling to get a storage unit.

Can you imagine having all your personal items and furniture packed and on the way to Albuquerque, then finding out that you?re not going to close for two weeks? Incredible.

Anyway, once we switched lenders, we needed to have a licensed contractor go out to the house inspect the improvements and ceritfy that they were done to code and in a workman like fashion. That was the only way we could get lender #2 to take the loan.

What if the work had not been to code or constructed in a workman like manner?

So whether you?re a home owner considering doing a large DYI project or a buyer looking for a new house, watch out for unpermitted work. It can cause a big problem getting a mortgage, and that?s not good whether you?re buying or selling.

Pigeons vanish in the 'Birdmuda Triangle'

Hundreds of racing pigeons have been disappearing over a sleepy pocket of North East England, earning the region a reputation as the "Birdmuda Triangle."?

On Saturday, the Telegraph reported, one club of pigeon fanciers released a flock of 230 birds from North Yorkshire. Only 13 birds arrived at their destination in Scotland.

Some of the aggrieved hobbyists ? who routinely release trained pigeons tasked with finding their way home from distances of hundreds of miles ? are now considering grounding their remaining birds until the mystery is solved.

Pigeons have long baffled scientists with their uncanny navigational abilities. Earlier this year, researchers at Baylor College identified one component of the birds' internal GPS when they showed that their brains contain a specialized group of cells that measure the strength and direction of the Earth's magnetic field, serving as a compass.? [ 9 Weird Animal Facts ]

But what special property of a triangular region in North East England ? marked off by places called Wetherby, Corsett and Thirsk, and measuring 65 miles (105 km) on its longest side ? could be capable of short-circuiting a pigeon's sense of home?

Some racers have implicated a nearby military intelligence operation, blaming rogue signals from the Royal Air Force's Menwith Hill satellite station for jamming their birds' instincts.

"There's been a fair amount of experimentation on the effect of radio signals on pigeon orientation," said Charles Walcott, a professor of neurobiology and behavior at Cornell University who has been studying pigeons since 1962. "No one has ever seen any substantial effect."

Others have attributed losses to unusually high levels of solar activity that they say have distorted the Earth's magnetic field and, by extension, their pigeons' mental maps. (Though it is merely following its normal cycle, the sun has been increasingly active lately.)

According to Walcott, researchers have shown that disruptions in the Earth's magnetic field caused by solar flares do in fact jog pigeons' internal compasses, changing the initial direction the birds choose to set off in when they're first released. But a nationwide study published in the now-defunct Racing Pigeon Bulletin examined the results of pigeon races alongside variations in the Earth's magnetic field and concluded that, in the United States at least, there was no correlation.

"But (the Racing Pigeon Bulletin study) doesn't rule out the idea," he told Life's Little Mysteries. "It just says that over a big area there was no obvious effect; it doesn't mean that there couldn't be one in a small area."

Walcott's pick for the most plausible cause of England's pigeon losses happens also to be the most likely explanation for the real Bermuda Triangle's undue reputation as a mystical devourer of ships and men: bad weather.

  1. Science news from NBCNews.com

    1. Egypt's 'Google Earth pyramids' revisited

Science editor Alan Boyle's blog: Remember that researcher who thought she spotted previously undiscovered Egyptian pyramids in Google Earth imagery? There really are some ruins in one of the pictures, but they?re not pyramids.

    2. Amazing Hurricane Isaac photo a fake
    3. How pandas pick perfect spot to pee
    4. Chimp 'secret handshakes' may be cultural

The Telegraph reports that the section of North East England in question has been experiencing abnormally high rainfall, and some of the racers have proposed that missing pigeons may have been led far afield by their efforts to avoid storms.

"I think that explanation's quite likely," said Walcott. "Pigeons really do not like to fly in the rain because their feathers are not equipped for it, so in my experience pigeons will simply put down until the rain has passed."

As for where last weekend's 217 unaccounted-for racing birds headed when the sun came back out, Walcott says we may never know. He's heard of mass disappearances at U.S. races before, and for some of the pigeon fanciers at those events, answers still haven't surfaced.

"(T)hose pigeons that are lost, many of them find other pigeon lofts and go in. But some just plain disappear and you never see them again, and I don't think anyone understands what's going on," he said.

As Those With Autism Get Older, Fewer Proven Interventions ...

By Rick Nauert PhD Senior News Editor
Reviewed by John M. Grohol, Psy.D. on August 28, 2012

As Those With Autism Get Older, Fewer Proven Interventions AvailableResearchers say current interventional therapies for autism among adolescents and young adults are not supported, or refuted, by existing outcome evidence.

Vanderbilt University scientists say the dearth of evidence calls for an immediate round of structured interventions that can be accurately tracked for success or failure.

Although the prevalence of autism is on the rise, much remains to be discovered when it comes to interventions for this population, the researchers concluded.

?Overall, there is very little evidence in all areas of care for adolescents and young adults with autism, and it is urgent that more rigorous studies be developed and conducted,? said Melissa McPheeters, Ph.D., M.P.H., and senior author of the report.

The report is a systematic review of therapies published by the Department of Health and Human Services? Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

Zachary Warren, Ph.D., director of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center?s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders, said, ?There are growing numbers of adolescents and adults with autism in need of substantial support.

?Without a stronger evidence base, it is very hard to know which interventions will yield the most meaningful outcomes for individuals with autism and their families.?

As a basis for the report, researchers systematically screened more than 4,500 studies and reviewed the 32 studies published from January 1980 to December 2011 on therapies for people ages 13 to 30 with autism spectrum disorders.

They focused on the outcomes, including harms and adverse effects, of interventions, including medical, behavioral, educational and vocational.

  • Some evidence revealed that treatments could improve social skills and educational outcomes such as vocabulary or reading, but the studies were generally small and had limited follow-up;
  • Limited evidence supports the use of medical interventions in adolescents and young adults with autism. The most consistent findings were identified for the effects of antipsychotic medications on reducing problem behaviors that tend to occur with autism, such as irritability and aggression. Harms associated with medications included sedation and weight gain;
  • Only five articles tested vocational interventions, all of which suggested that certain vocational interventions may be effective for certain individuals, but each study had significant flaws that limited the researchers? confidence in their conclusions.

The researchers? findings on vocational interventions will be featured in the Aug. 27 issue of Pediatrics.

Newly released data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that one in 88 children has an autism spectrum disorder. Boys with autism outnumber girls 5-to-1, which which works out to one in 54 boys in the U.S. with? autism.

?With more and more youth with autism leaving high school and entering the adult world, there is urgent need for evidence-based interventions that can improve their quality of life and functioning,? said Julie Lounds Taylor, Ph.D., assistant professor of pediatrics and special education and lead author of the report.

The majority of content that consumers are watching on connected TVs is found through search, either a direct input search or via a menu or store. Second screen search for content is still quite popular with a third of respondents using that method. Recommendations, both social and algorithm-based, are also showing success as well?

?all of your content needs as much meta-data attached to it as you can get in there to make sure the videos are found and offered to the consumers.

Baby back ribs

?

Recently, I was featured on GoNannies.com?s post on best kid friendly crock pot recipes on the web. Say, ?Wow!? ;p

I am on a crock pot roll. I invested some 40 odd dollars in a big, beautiful looking crock pot and that has been one of my best investments yet. Crock Pots successfully cook a lot of stuff, but I feel meat comes out the best. Soft, succulent and yet luxurious, the silken texture of a meat fiber often bursts with flavor that has been cooked in the slow cooker in its own juices.

?

Ribs falling off the bone

Ribs falling off the bone ? THAT is how it is supposed to be eaten.

Initially when I came to US, I didn?t eat much of anything offered on the restaurant menu other than chicken. Not even fish, as most preparations had a strong fishy smell that I couldn?t stomach. Beef was off the charts, and I wasn?t sure if I liked pork either. It took a while to find out what worked for me, and slowly, I got used to so many flavors that now I wonder how did I ever lived without them.

Once, I got a taste of Baby Back ribs and St Louise ribs. It was lip-smacking delicious. But the problem was, both hubby and I were under the impression that it was beef. He of course had no qualms in relishing it. I, on the other hand, looked at it longingly, but just couldn?t bring myself to eat it.

Marinade baby back ribs

Weird are the ways of humans. What could be a problem eating it even if it was beef? I truly can?t explain. I don?t like the taste, or the texture.? I never have managed to develop a taste for it. I guess a lot has to do with how you are brought up. More often than not, subconsciously, that does play a role in deciding much of your lifestyle, choices, and even your food.

So even as my kids and hubby enjoyed those mouthwatering ribs, I picked at my chicken. Then someone told me that St Louise ribs are pork. Yay! I attacked them with gusto. So you can imagine my joy when I discovered that Baby back were, well, just another cut of the same pork !

That day itself I decided to make up for all the lost time. I hunted down recipes for BBQ ribs, and bought them ready made from stores. Eventually I started cooking them from scratch, and finally landed up with this recipe which guarantees a top dollar meal without the mandatory slog accompanying it.

Beware! It?s going to be messy, and delicious. Ditch those knives and forks, and free your fingers. You are going to need them.

Baby back ribs - amazing

?

Another crock pot gem ? BBQ Baby Back Ribs

Serves: 4

  • 4 medium Racks of Baby back ribs
  • Marinade
  • Combine the following to prepare the marinade:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1tsp of fennel powder
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne powder
  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp of Wright?s Liquid Smoke (optional)
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • For braising:
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp white wine (optional)
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  1. Wash and pat dry the ribs with kitchen towel.
  2. Coat the ribs well with the marinade.
  3. Refrigerate for two hours to over night.
  4. Transfer the ribs to a deep and large enough Crock Pot.
  5. Cook on slow for 6 hours on the low.

Braise

  1. Combine the ingredients and heat it in a pan, and stir till it becomes a consistently thick syrup.
  2. Fire your grill and place the ribs, cooking them for 10 minutes on each side, basting them with the braising liquid until the ribs are nice glazed.
  3. Alternatively, broil them for 5 minutes, till they are nicely browned.
  4. Apply braising sauce all over, and return to broil for another minute or so, until the braise begins to caramalize. Take care not to burn the sauce.
  5. Serve Hot.
  6. Yummm!

I am still new to timing my recipes. It?s still ?a pinch of this and a dash of that? for me. While grilling/broiling AFTER the ribs are cooked, I strongly advise to use your judgement. For those who are new, the time given are approximate, to feel free to check on the ribs constantly while you broil or grill them.

Bon Appetit!

iOS and Android device adoption rate said to be fastest in history

According to analytics firm Flurry, the adoption rate of iOS and Android devices has now surpassed all other consumer technologies in history. Smartphones and tablets are being adopted at a rate 10 times faster than PCs from the 1980s, two times faster than the Internet in the 1990s, and three times faster than the current social networking boom. Flurry?s latest estimates point to a combined total of more than 640 million iOS and Android devices in use during the month of July. The firm also found that 78% of U.S. adults aged 15 to 64 were using smart devices during that period.?China is quickly catching up, however, growing a whopping?401% year-over-year. It is estimated that at the current rate, China could overtake the U.S. as early as the upcoming holiday season. Along with China, three other countries ? Chile, Brazil and Argentina ? all showed growth rates exceeding 200% in the last year, while four others ? Vietnam, Mexico, Russia, Turkey and India ? grew more than 100%.

Renal denervation treats resistant hypertension in real world patient populations

ScienceDaily (Aug. 27, 2012) ? Renal denervation successfully treats patients with resistant hypertension in real world patient populations, according to a study presented at ESC Congress 2012. The findings were presented by Dr Darren Mylotte from France.

Transcatheter renal denervation represents a novel therapy for treating patients with treatment resistant hypertension, a condition which greatly increases the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke.

"The Symplicity Hypertension I and II studies have suggested that this procedure significantly lowers blood pressure in these patients with few remaining options in terms of treatment," said Dr Mylotte. "However, patients included in clinical trials are often highly selected, and therefore may not reflect the patient encountered by physicians on a day-to-day basis. As such, the results of these trials may not be applicable to less-selected patient populations."

In light of this potential problem, the investigators sought to evaluate the effect of transcatheter renal denervation in a group of patients with resistant hypertension in their own clinical practice at The Institut Cardiovasculaire de Paris Sud, Paris, France.

They intended to perform transcatheter renal denervation on 35 consecutive patients referred to the service with resistant hypertension. The study used the same definition as the Symplicity trials to define resistant hypertension.

Among these patients, 36.5% were female, 36.4% were diabetic, and 15.2% had kidney dysfunction. Baseline office blood pressure (BP) was 181.1?21.9 /100.8?16.8 mmHg, despite an average of 4.6?1.0 medications per patient. Successful bilateral sympathetic denervation was performed in 33 out of 35 patients (1 patient was not treated due to a stenosis of the renal artery; 1 patient had treatment on one side only, as multiple small renal arteries were found on the other side). No procedural complications occurred.

At 6-months follow-up, the average office BP reduction from baseline was 30.3?21.1/14.6?15.3 mmHg (P<0.0001). Similarly, ambulatory BP was reduced 23.3?12.1/10.2?9.9 mmHg from baseline (P<0.001). There were no adverse events during follow-up (death, myocardial infarction, or stroke), and no deterioration in renal function was observed.

"Transcatheter renal denervation is a safe and efficacious treatment, which results in significant reductions in blood pressure in real world patients with treatment resistant hypertension," said Dr Mylotte. "Although longer-term results are required, renal denervation should be considered for all patients with treatment resistant hypertension, as it is likely to lower their blood pressure and reduce their chances of myocardial infarction and stroke."

Data Recovery Offline Solutions : Guide To Data Recovery

Losing your data is an unexpected time consuming problem that may stop you from working depending on why your system crashed to begin with; mechanical or physical. Either way you are stuck until you fix your system or purchase a new one. If you purchase a new one you still need to access your data from your damaged computer system in order to transfer files, documents and other important information that you need.

How do you do that when your system is down?

You can use an offline recovery solution to prevent data loss.

Offline recovery solutions allow you to pick up and recover data that has been lost somehow on your system. It takes minimal effort and you will be up and running in no time. What you need is a software program that you can use to recover your data. There are several different software programs to choose from depending on your needs and your computers capabilities. You may need to do a little research to find the program that is right for you. You may also choose to go with an online program that handles your data while you are offline.

You can also try to recover the data that is lost by what most computer companies call tricks. These tricks are not advisable and should be left to the professionals in order to retrieve your lost data and prevent further damage to your system. Offline data solutions are a great way to recover your lost data safely and effectively without costing you an unbelievable price. You can schedule your data to be saved on a regular program updated daily, weekly or monthly to save all data and prevent files from getting lost.

How You Can Lose Important Data

When you lose your data you may lose very important information; birthdays, appointments, contact addresses, homework assignments, work documents and other important information that you stored on your computer not realizing that you could lose it. Maybe it was a page you had pulled up and working on when someone came in to talk.

During the conversation a button may have been pushed and all of your hard work that day was deleted. Any other time you would worry but this problem can be fixed easily.

When you lose your data sometimes you can fully recover it simply by going into the recycle bin and restoring it while other times it may be deleted from the recycling bin as well. You need to restore the document soon in order to finish your work.

There are other ways that you can lose your data; Hardware problems, system problems, computer virus, disaster such as a fire or other act of nature that may cause damage to your computer.

With the technology that is available today you can sometimes recover data from your hard drive even after a fire, depending on the damage that was done. There is hardly anything that prevents recovery of data now.

Just because your data seems lost or deleted don?t underestimate what data recovery sources can do to bring your data back and restore it to its original form. Using software or an online service can prevent loss of data at any time.

The Importance of Data Recovery

With technology today records and other important documents are now kept on computers instead of the traditional pen and paper style of bookkeeping. People put a lot of faith into computers and trust that they will always provide the documentation that they store forever. Most of the time people do not see the need for a back up system to recover any data that may get lost or they may think that it is important but they put off using the backup and eventually forget about it.

Today, social security information, military records, birth records, death records and prison sign in and discharge records can be viewed from the comfort of your home computer.

This information that we all have access to is priceless. It takes less time for someone to type out these documents than it does to mail in a request, have someone write it up make a copy and then send it by mail to the person that requested the information.

This is okay as long as there is a backup plan to saving or recovering data. If there was a fire in a courthouse or file room that housed all the important information then we would only have our computers to gather the information and would have to question the accuracy of that document.

Data recovery is very important and in some cases vital in order to maintain records that may otherwise get lost in the shuffle. Protecting our important documents is the number one goal to a great data recovery.

Data recovery is the process of saving the information that you can no longer get to by using the normal source. Without being able to reach your data you may lose important documents and information that you cannot find anywhere else.

Data recovery will help you to recover that information even if your system has crashed. There are several ways you can recover the information and you can do it yourself or you can hire someone to do it for you. Recovering data can sometimes be more complicated, depending on why you lost the data to begin with. You may have no other choice but to find someone who can recover the data for you.

Data can be lost by any physical damage done to the storage media or any mechanical failure that would cause the media to crash. For the most part with any physical damage you may be able to recover some but not all of the data lost. You may be able to recover data from a mechanical glitch as long as the media is not damaged in the process. You may use data recovery tools to help you recover your data that is lost. These tools are available in different kits depending on your need.

With today?s technology data recovery online or offline is possible with tools and other solutions to help you save as much as possible. There are several data recovery agencies to help you online with your data recovery and offer a lot of information for those who wish to try recovery themselves.

Physical damage is not like picking up your computer and slamming it down on the floor or carrying it up a flight of stairs only to drop it at the top. Physical damage can occur in several ways. You use your computer?s hard drive everyday not realizing that every time you use it you are putting your computer at risk of a malfunction that can lose your data and be hard to recover it all completely.

Physical damage done to a CD-ROM is usually visible by scratches or marks that can be seen. When you insert these scratched up or marked disks into the hard drive they can cause mechanical failure to your system. You may or may not be able to reverse the damage once it is done and your computer will never operate the same. Dust can become trapped in the hard disk drive causing problems in your computer that may be irreversible. This type of damage can be prevented if you take the time to clean the area frequently and protect it with protective covers.

In order to fix any of the problems done to your hard drive you may need to take it to a professional in order to get if fixed. Professionals discourage users from fixing their own hard drives when physical damage has been done. Complications may occur and may make the problem hard to fix with minimal expense. If you want to fix your own physical damage, consult a professional to make sure that you are using the right tools to keep damage and cost to a minimum.

Online Data Recovery Solutions

Losing your data usually occurs when you don?t have the extra time to fix the problem. You may rely on your computer for work or you may use your home computer to keep track of important personal files.

Whatever your reason you are going to be lost without your data so you need to find a quick easy solution to restore your data quickly and easily so you don?t have to go long without those important files and documents.

There are several online options to saving data to prevent data loss. These online solutions are available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

The first choice you may have is to hire an online company that can store your data incase of a system lock up, crash or failure. Using these types of services may be your answer, especially if you frequently depend on your computer to house vital information and records. You can also purchase an online backup and restore software which will allow you to recover lost data anytime you need to. These online solutions can recover data from a hard drive, laptop, desktop, server, RAID, OS, tape, email, file, digital photo, mobile device and more. These online companies make recovery simple and easy to use and can protect you from losing data permanently.

The main reason someone loses their data is due to a hardware or system problem but there are other reasons such as human error, disaster, virus, or software corruption. Either way you don?t realize how nice an online data recover solution is until you need it.

Romney admits Democratic attacks are hurting him with voters

The Romneys head into speech prep in Wolfeboro, NH (Evan Vucci/AP)BOSTON?Mitt Romney is spending Monday morning doing speech prep at an elementary school near his vacation home in Wolfeboro, N.H., but he's already giving hints about what he will say Thursday night when he accepts the GOP nomination at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

In an interview with USA Today's Susan Page, Romney says his wife, Ann, will offer a glimpse of his personal side to voters in her convention speech. But when he takes the stage, it will be all business.

"We won't be talking about my life," Romney tells USA Today. "We'll be talking about policy."

It's a notable choice even as Romney bluntly acknowledges in both the USA Today interview and in a separate interview with Politico that some voters just don't like him. He accuses President Barack Obama and his allies of "personal vilification and demonization"?and admits their attacks have been effective.

[Related: Ron Paul doesn't 'fully endorse' Romney]

"There are plenty of weaknesses that I have, and I acknowledge that," Romney tells USA Today. "But the attacks that have come have been so misguided, have been so far off target, have been so dishonest, that they surprised me. I thought they might go after me on things that were accurate that I've done wrong, instead of absurd things."

Among the examples Romney cites: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's claims that he hadn't paid personal taxes in a decade, which the GOP candidate described as "ridiculous."

"The attack about how Romney's responsible for this woman who died ? and the vice president's comments about 'chains.' Really?" Romney told USA Today. "The White House just keeps stepping lower and lower and lower, and the people of America know this is an important election and they deserve better than they've seen."

But Romney insists he won't change his focus to appeal more to voters on an emotional basis.

"I know there are some people who do a very good job acting and pretend they're something they're not. ... You get what you see. I am who I am," Romney told Politico's Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen. "I don't think everybody likes me. I don't believe that, by any means. But I do believe that people of this country are looking for someone who can get the country growing again with more jobs and more take-home pay, and I think they realize this president had four years to do that. ? He got every piece of legislation he wanted passed, and it didn't work. I think they want someone who has a different record, and I do."

But while Romney assailed the Obama campaign for its attacks, the presumptive Republican nominee has grown more aggressive on the trail in recent weeks. Two weeks ago, he slammed Obama for running a campaign based on "division and anger and hate." He's accused Obama of trying to undo historic welfare reforms requiring recipients to work and of using Medicare funds to pay for so-called "Obamacare"?two lines of attack that have been disputed by independent fact-checkers.

On Friday, Romney made a birth certificate joke during a rally in Michigan that was widely interpreted as a dig at conspiracy theories that Obama wasn't born in the United States?though Romney later insisted it wasn't a joke about Obama.

Asked about the joke, Romney told both USA Today and Politico he was simply being "human" and "spontaneous" and injecting a little humor into the campaign. And he argued that Obama's attacks have been personal, while his attacks on Obama have been based on policy.

He tells USA Today that Obama and his allies have tried "to minimize me as an individual, to make me a bad person, an unacceptable person."

"I think in the final analysis, people will recognize those attacks for what they are, and they'll make a decision based on who can do a better job creating jobs and providing more take-home pay for the middle class of America," Romney told USA Today. "I believe I am that person."

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? Just because Shia LaBeouf appears completely nude in the new Sigur Ros video and has said he's willing to perform real sex acts in Lars Von Trier's upcoming "The Nymphomaniac," that doesn't mean he's going through an exhibitionist phase.

The 26-year-old actor says he's "not choosing to be naked all the time" and that he "didn't get into (acting) to be a porn guy."

"We were just playing characters," he explains.

Still, the 8? -minute video for "Fjogur Piano" shows the "Transformers" star naked and caressing the bare breasts of his female co-star. He said people have been responding well to the video so he feels "quite confident" about his performance.

Chael Sonnen?s pizzeria selling the Jon Jones special ? full of chicken and cheese

Jon Jones' refusal of a bout with Chael Sonnen may have led to a cancellation of fights set for Saturday night, but it also led to a whole new pizza at Sonnen's Mean Streets Pizza. TMZ found Sonnen's pizzeria has a whole new pizza in Jones' honor.

Though it doesn't sound particularly appetizing, the pizza is full of chicken and cheese. Sonnen throws two more barbs at Jones by saying the deal is only good until "the chicken runs out," and offers delivery so to "avoid a DUI." Jones crashed his Bentley into a tree when driving drunk in May.

If you're in West Linn, Ore., check out Mean Streets and tell us if the Jon Jones pizza is any good.
